Local Mission:

Oswego Expeditions creates opportunities for individuals to make healthy lifestyle choices by providing year-round outdoor fitness programming. Our “Education thru Exploration” philosophy merges health with history and nature with a concentration on improving the overall health & well-being of participants.

 

Global Mission Statement:

Oswego Expeditions welcomes tourists to Oswego by offering year-round “Education Thru Exploration” Expeditions which focus on showcasing special points of interest such as the local history of Oswego, Lake Ontario, The Oswego & Salmon Rivers, New York State Nature Preserves & Parks including The Adirondack Mountains.

Jennifer Mays Founder

A successful entrepreneur with a flair for adventure, Jennifer is the owner and operator of Oswego Expeditions, offering guided recreation and educational tours throughout Oswego County, N.Y. She recently made headlines as a semi-finalist in the county’s “Next Great Idea” Business Plan Competition.

Jennifer’s background is rich and diverse, having served as a fitness trainer at Gold’s Gym and as an award-winning deputy sheriff in Hernando County, Fla., where she was the first female member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) reserve unit. She also runs her own White Gloves Cleaning Service.

Jennifer is a licensed guide of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as well as currently certifying as a personal trainer of the American College of Sports Medicine. In her spare time, Jennifer loves to hike—she’s already climbed a third of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks—and to volunteer at The Richardson-Bates House Museum. She is a partner family with Habitat for Humanity and serves on the board of the Oswego County Historical Society.
